You’re not alone. It’s a problem that seems to be increasingly taking over more and more people. A lot of the food we in Western countries tend to eat has enough protein, carbs and fats to keep us going, but doesn’t seem to do much more than that.
We get pimples and acne in our years, start putting on weight in our twenties, increasingly are at risk of diabetes, heart disease and cancer in our 30’s, begin to slow down in our 40’s with arthritis and back problems, and the medical hurdles get bigger and harder to get over from our 50’s onward.
In America, in 2010, an estimated 70% of deaths annually were attributed to chronic diseases such as Heart Disease, Cancer, Stroke, Diabetes and Hypertension (High Blood Pressure.)
And medical authorities are concerned….REALLY concerned….because the incidence of diseases like Diabetes and Heart Disease is RISING year by year. Of course, they’re concerned about how much it will cost the Government, supporting the huge number of people who are crippled or cut down by these largely preventable diseases.
I think we all individually need to be concerned as well, and if you’re a thinking person, you probably already are. You get one body, and one shot at life. Medical procedures (medications, surgeries, organ transplants, etc) are the option that most people take because they think there’s no other.
OR, you might think that because there’s a family history of a certain disease that it’s inevitable that you’ll get it too.
In either case, there are issues that are more “in your face” that people struggle with daily. Weight problems, skin problems, kidney and liver problems, digestion problems, recurring colds and flus. Of course, all of these things affect our ability to function at our peak. Meanwhile, each illness is prescribed its own drug, and that means an ever increasing collection of pill bottles and packets on the kitchen counter!
And there’s nothing worse than taking a prescription, finding it doesn’t work, being given a second different prescription, and if that doesn’t work then another one. You get to feel a bit like a lab rat!
To: All those who are tired of the battle against the typical illnesses of modern society like obesity, diabetes, arthritis, etc and know it’s time to make positive change!
If you’ve ever had that nagging feeling that you need to make some positive changes with your diet….
Or you’ve got so many healthy recipes already saved in a myriad of places so that you struggle to keep track of… Read more…
